The Region of Castile and León

The region is among the country’s largest and borders Extremadura in the south, Portugal and Galicia to the west, Asturias, Cantabria and Basque Country to the north towards La Rioja and Aragón to the east and Madrid and Castile La Mancha to the south-east.

The region consists of nine provinces in total.
