The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 was unveiled in London at a ceremony Monday 18th July. Among the winners were six Spanish restaurants. Three in Basque Country and one each in Barcelona, Madrid and Dénia (Alicante). So, if you are looking for delightful culinary experiences, these few restaurants have been chosen by an international panel of 1,080 experts to provide the very best dines.
Disfrutar
In place number three and leading the Spanish charge is Disfrutar of Barcelona. The World’s 50 Best calls this centrally located restaurant “A thrilling contemporary experience orchestrated by a talented trio of chefs”. DiverXO
In fourth place and the current Spanish runner up is DiverXO found in central Madrid. The World’s 50 Best labels the restaurant located in the vicinity of Real Madrid’s home stadium as a “Showstopping avant-garde cuisine from Spain’s creative wunderkind”. Asador Etxebarri
In sixth place follows the Axpe, Basque Country restaurant Asador Etxebarri. The World’s 50 Best names the restaurant located by a rural multi-road junction “The ultimate in artisanal cookery from the Basque king of the barbecue”. Elkano

In 42nd place we find the Dénia (Alicante) based restaurant Quique Dacosta.
