Leading Brands of Spain

How familiar are you with Spanish brand names and the companies that own them? You’ve probably heard of brands such as Paco Rabanne, Banco Santander, Real Madrid, El Pozo, Repsol, Paradores, Marqués de Cáceres, Imaginarium, and Mapfre. Many more Spanish corporations than you might think have a worldwide presence. Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas, also known as the Leading Brands of Spain Forum, is an organization set up to help Spain’s major brands expand in the international marketplace, but it also offers plenty of interesting and useful information for those of us who would like to learn more about Spanish business and industry: Have a closer look at leading Spanish-owned brands and in which countries the corporations that own them operate.

Spain is the world’s 13th largest economy. You can read more about how it compares to some of the other major world economies in one of Find Your Spain’s past articles: The size of the Spanish economy. If you are looking for information about the size of Spain’s regional economies, take a look at: Economies of the Regions and Companies and Regions in Spain.

But back to the Leading Brands of Spain Forum: Their website, https://www.marcasrenombradas.com/, lets you search information in English or Spanish. On the page Atlas of the Brands you can search based on country presence, or search companies alphabetically by name or by sector in which they operate. You can search Atlas of the Brands here: Atlas of the brands.

In the informative Atlas of Brands you will find well-known Spanish brands with a worldwide reach. They represent businesses that you might expect to find on a list of Spain’s most important brands such as wineries, agricultural growers and food processors, fashion and clothing manufacturers, and football/soccer clubs. But the Atlas also includes major energy providers and other infrastructure corporations, gaming companies, certification corporations, hotel chains and education providers. You might also be surprised to see that leading Spanish brands are not just focused on South American markets, but have a significant presence in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Leading Brands of Spain Forum offers programs to corporate managers “offering CEOs the key tools to activate the brand and reputation, innovation and design as levers of competitiveness, differentiation and generation of long-term value.” But for the rest of us, the forum’s website perhaps more interestingly features easy-to-access information about member organizations, in which markets they are present along with data on sales generated in these markets, number of employees, products, industries, and more. If you are curious about the composition of Spanish business and industry, the Leading Brands of Spain Forum is a great place to start looking for information.

Leading Brands of Spain has also prepared PDFs that provide a one-page overview of key data for each company presented. (If the PDFs are slow to load you can search Atlas of the Brands here: Atlas of the brands.)
